The Australian and New Zealand International Scientific Drilling Consortium (ANZIC) equips scientists in Australia and New Zealand with the skills, global connections, samples and data needed to explore Earth's interconnected processes, past and future.
With a view to deep Earth discovery that underpins a resilient and sustainable society, ANZIC supports scientists in Australia and New Zealand to participate in scientific drilling/coring expeditions or projects run by international scientific drilling programs.
ANZIC Scientific Drilling Participation Support is available to scientists or students at a Host Institution that is an Australian ANZIC member institution who have been selected or invited as a Participant in a scientific drilling Expedition or Project.
Scientists or students affiliated with a New Zealand ANZIC member institution can apply for support through GeoDiscoveryNZ.
Applications will only be considered if submitted within four months of material being available through the IODP³ (at a post-cruise sampling party) or ICDP systems.
Other conditions and limitations are outlined in the Guidelines for ANZIC Scientific Drilling Participation Support – Australia [hyperlink] and the ANZIC Travel Expenditure Policy [hyperlink]
Applications will only be accepted via the SmartyGrants platform.
